About this opportunity
This Limited / Sole Source Justification Notice is for a Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA) contract to address obsolescence issues with the B-2 Bomber's Data Entry Panel (DEP), a critical flight safety component. Northrop Grumman, the original equipment manufacturer and system integrator, is the only known source with the necessary data, equipment, and expertise to develop a solution. The 42-month, $28.9M Cost-Plus Fixed Fee effort includes designing, building, and qualifying the DEP, updating technical data, and extending the asset lifetime. This is a follow-on to a previous Phase I obsolescence analysis, and the rationale is that alternative solutions would take over 7 years of reverse engineering due to Northrop Grumman's proprietary technical data.
