About this opportunity
The U.S. Army 411th Contracting Support Brigade is conducting market research to identify potential South Korea-based vendors for an autonomous food production system for the 19th Expeditionary Sustainment Command. The primary objective is to develop a self-contained food system that can produce up to 80 made-to-order meals per hour, providing 24/7 meal access for soldiers beyond traditional dining facility hours. Key requirements include operating within a 10 square meter footprint, supporting Holistic Health and Fitness guidelines, and enabling secure QR-based meal access without collecting personally identifiable information. Vendors must submit a capability statement, company details, and respond to specific market research questions by June 8, 2025. The evaluation will focus on vendors' ability to meet functional requirements, demonstrate system capabilities, and support deployment in South Korea's Area IV.
The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designations for this opportunity, and no incumbent contractors are mentioned. The procurement is structured as a 6-month technical demonstration and operational pilot at Camp Walker, South Korea, with a focus on reducing labor burden for culinary personnel and expanding meal access technologies. The system must operate on commercial Wi-Fi or cellular networks, provide an intuitive touchscreen interface, and support exportable data compatible with Army food tracking systems. While no specific award value is disclosed, the contract appears to be a pilot program for evaluating emerging autonomous kitchen technologies. Vendors will be assessed on their ability to provide local maintenance, ensure system uptime, and demonstrate experience with similar autonomous or low-labor food production systems.
