About this opportunity
The FDA's Center for Devices and Radiological Health is preparing to procure one load cell transducer and associated installation and calibration services to replace a malfunctioning unit on a Government-owned MTS Mini-Bionix 858 mechanical testing system, with a sources-sought deadline of July 8, 2026. No set-aside applies. Place of performance is the FDA facility where the testing system is located. The replacement load cell must measure 0N to 22,000N in tension and compression and 0Nm to 200Nm in torsion, and maintain full compatibility with the existing MTS Mini-Bionix 858 model 662.20H-05 controller hardware, software configuration, data acquisition interfaces, and custom fixtures without requiring system modification or replacement. Equivalent products meeting stated salient characteristics and interoperability requirements are acceptable. The contractor shall furnish the load cell transducer; remove the existing unit; fabricate and install interface plates, adapters, and mounting hardware; perform on-site calibration to ASTM standards using NIST-traceable methods; deliver calibration certificates and an operational verification report; and provide a manufacturer warranty of not less than twelve months. Delivery is required within six weeks of contract award, with installation and calibration completion within five business days of delivery. This will be awarded as a Firm-Fixed-Price commercial supply contract, with NAICS 334516 and small business size standard of 1,000 employees. Vendors must identify whether proposed products are domestic end products per FAR Part 25. Responses from both small and other-than-small businesses are welcome. Submit capability statements to Reagan Davis, Contract Specialist, at Reagan.Davis@fda.hhs.gov by July 8, 2026. This is a market survey only; no contract will be awarded from this notice.
