About this opportunity
The US Army Corps of Engineers Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) has issued a Special Notice for Attending Veterinarian services under NAICS code 541940 with a $10 million size standard. This is a total small business set-aside opportunity that was posted on July 16, 2025, with responses due by 1:00 PM CST on July 18, 2025. The ERDC intends to award this contract on a sole source basis to Senter Consulting Services under FAR 6.302-2 for unusual and compelling urgency. The requirement involves procuring a qualified Attending Veterinarian to work with the Environmental Laboratory's Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee and provide guidance to scientists conducting animal research. The contractor must maintain appropriate DoD-required credentials to serve as the Attending Veterinarian for the Animal Care and Use Program.
The primary purpose of this procurement is to ensure continuous veterinary oversight for ERDC's animal research programs, as losing qualified veterinary support would jeopardize the facility's authority to work with vertebrates and severely impact mission capabilities. While this is not a request for competitive quotes and no formal solicitation will be issued, all responsible sources may submit capability statements, proposals, or quotations for consideration. Contractors must demonstrate their ability to fulfill the requirement through detailed submissions including past experience with similar requirements and references. Responses must be submitted electronically to specified contracting officers and include sufficient detail to show capability for providing veterinary services. The government retains sole discretion in determining whether to conduct competitive procurement based on responses received, and verbal communications are not acceptable for this opportunity.
