Update #1 ·

Added: Apr 19, 2013 8:27 am THIS IS A RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT (R&D) NOTICE OF INTENT, NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL.

The Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) will be competing a contract for a qualified source for an Asthma Cohort Support Contract. The proposed research study aims to increase understanding of factors that predict poor asthma control during pregnancy as well as add knowledge of the basic immunology as it relates to pregnancy. Asthma is a common chronic disease and some women experience exacerbation and worsening of their asthma during pregnancy while others improve.

This study will be an observational cohort study to evaluate predictors of asthma control variability during pregnancy, including accounting for changes in lung function and markers of inflammation associated with pregnancy in non-asthmatics.
