About this opportunity
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has awarded a five-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for the purchase of fiber optic cables essential to the operation of Automated Surface Observing Systems (ASOS). The awarded contract 1305M225D0039 was granted to PULSE COMMUNICATIONS INC with an initial value of $169,614.50 on September 4, 2025. These fiber optic cables are critical infrastructure components that carry signals from ASOS sensors to the Data Collection Platform (DCP) where data is collected and transmitted to the Acquisition Control Unit (ACU), making them essential for ASOS functionality. The IDIQ structure allows for multiple orders over the five-year contract period to meet ongoing operational requirements for weather monitoring equipment maintenance and replacement.
