Notice text

The Department of Veterans Affairs VISN 22 Network 22 Logistics Office intends to negotiate multiple Commercial (FAR Part 12) Firm Fixed Price contracts through a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Artificial Limb Fabrication and Repair for the Loma Linda, CA, Greater Los Angeles, CA, Long Beach, CA, San Diego, CA and Southern Nevada VA Healthcare System facilities and areas located in the Southern California counties of San Diego, Imperial, Los Angeles, Orange, Kern, Venture, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, San Bernardino and Riverside, the Nevada counties of Clark, Esmeralda, Lincoln and Nye, the Arizona county of Mojave and the Utah county of St. George. The contracts are being established for the purpose of servicing the Veterans in local areas over a widespread geographical area encompassing the participating VA Healthcare Systems. The procurement specifically provides for all contractors to have full-time American Board Certified (ABC) or Board of Orthotist-Prosthetist Certification (BOC) Prosthetist on staff at each of their locations in good standing. Each location must have its own ABC or BOC Facility Certification. The contract period is to be a base year from January 1, 2010 with the Government's option to renew the contracts for four (4) optional one (1) year periods. Site visits may be required by the VA. All current VISN 22 contractors are cautioned that this is a new solicitation. All current contracts expire December 31, 2009. Current contractors must submit a proposal with all required documents even if their current information is on file in the contracting office. Current contractors are not guaranteed a contract any more than any other vendor submitting a proposal. The current contracts will not be used to ascertain anything about this newly submitted proposal for this new contract. The proposal from current contractors must have all questions answered and all documents required in the solicitation submitted. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirements by submitting a proposal. VISN 22 encourages all interested small businesses, those without and those with current contracts, operating in the localities listed above to submit a proposal. All interested parties are encouraged to check the solicitation during the posting period in case there are any amendments that occur. All communication concerning changes and/or additions will be posted. This will be the only method of communications of these changes or additions. Any amendments must be acknowledged on page 4 of the solicitation document when submitted. The solicitation shall be posted on or about Friday, August 21, 2009. All interested vendors should download the solicitation once published. This is the only way to obtain a copy of the solicitation. Offerors are cautioned to read all requirements of the solicitation carefully and to assure that all areas that are needed to be completed and all documents that are to be submitted are enclosed in the proposal and received at the VISN 22 Logistics office by the date and time as listed in box 8 of Standard Form 1449 of the solicitation.
