About this opportunity
The United States Air Force Academy Admissions Office is seeking sources capable of providing an AI-powered transcript reading and scoring platform through this Request for Information. The system must read and interpret high school transcripts with at least 99% accuracy, digitize student data into separate fields, and categorize courses by subject and rigor level while understanding different grading scales and translating them to a standardized 4.0 scale. Key capabilities include recalculating GPAs based on buyer-provided weighting scales, identifying missing courses, and translating GPAs into indices per the Academy's requirements. The platform must also provide secure data transfer and storage capabilities that comply with industry standards and the buyer's data retention policies. This RFI has a very short response window, with responses due by September 19, 2025, just three days after the posting date of September 16, 2025.
This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside under NAICS code 518210 (Computing Infrastructure Providers, Data Processing, Web Hosting, and Related Services) and PSC code DH10 (IT and Telecom - Platform as a Service: Database, Mainframe, Middleware). The solicitation does not identify any incumbent contractors or provide specific budget ranges or award values, as this is strictly an information-gathering exercise rather than a formal procurement. No specific quantities are mentioned since this involves a software platform service rather than physical goods. The notice emphasizes that vendors must be able to provide a training interface for the buyer to train the AI on new rule sets, indicating an ongoing service relationship rather than a one-time delivery. The extremely compressed timeline suggests the Air Force Academy may be moving quickly toward a formal solicitation process.
