About this opportunity
The Department of Homeland Security Federal Protective Service Acquisition Division has issued a sole source justification to extend armed protective security officer services at the IRS campus in Austin, Texas. The seven-month contract extension, valued at approximately $6.4 million, was awarded to Bradley Technologies Inc. to provide continuous security coverage from August 1, 2025, through February 28, 2026. The extension covers approximately 76 armed protective security officers operating across 8 buildings at the IRS facility, with services billed at an hourly rate of $62.82. The sole source justification was necessary to prevent any disruption in critical security services while the agency completes a competitive solicitation process for a follow-on contract, which requires additional time for vendor questions, proposal evaluation, contract award, and a 120-day transition period. This procurement action ensures uninterrupted facility protection at the Austin IRS campus during the transition to the new competitive contract.
Notice text
The Federal Protective Service Acquisition Division has procured Armed Protective Security Officer (PSO) services on a noncompetitive basis to Bradley Technologies, Inc. (1700 Rockville Pike, STE 200 Rockville, Maryland 20852) for up to seven (7) months, August 01, 2025, through February 28, 2026, to allow time to close the solicitation, award the follow-on contract, and provide adequate time for transition. This action resulted in a modification to extend the ordering period of the existing indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity type contract to allow placement of a task order to continue critical PSO services at the IRS campus located in Austin, Texas. Task order(s) will only be issued under this contract for the necessary length of time required, but not to exceed seven months. As such, this extension will allow time to complete the solicitation and award as well as provide an adequate transition period to the new effort for this requirement.
Awarded contract 70RFP419DE7000001 to unknown vendor for unknown amount on 2025-07-31.
