About this opportunity

The Department of Agriculture Forest Service is conducting market research through a Sources Sought notice for Archeology Landscape Services on the Croatan National Forest in North Carolina. The services required include survey design, archaeological field work to identify and evaluate up to 51,000 acres of sites over 5 years, site form preparation, artifact curation, and development of a cultural resource management plan. The work will be performed on National Forest lands throughout North Carolina, with a focus on the Croatan Ranger District. Interested contractors, especially small businesses, are invited to submit information on their relevant experience and capabilities by June 13, 2024. This is not a request for proposals, but the government reserves the right to set aside any future solicitation solely for small businesses based on the results of this market research.

The applicable NAICS code is 541720 Archeological Research and Development Services, with a small business size standard of $28.0 million. Although this opportunity is currently open to all businesses, the government may decide to limit any future solicitation to small businesses, including 8(a), HUBZone, women-owned, service-disabled veteran-owned, and small disadvantaged businesses. No further details on award values or incumbent contractors were provided in the sources sought notice.
