About this opportunity
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland, is procuring repair, calibration, and replacement parts services for AN/V-126A-100 and AN/V-126A-3000 test sets to restore them to original manufacturer specifications. The contract will cover repair and calibration of computerized field portable night vision test sets along with procurement of 14 specific parts and components, including detector probes, adapter cables, diopter scopes, collimation bridges, and power adapters. NAVAIR intends to award this contract as a sole-source procurement to Hoffman Engineering, LLC, the original equipment manufacturer, citing the company's exclusive possession of proprietary data, specialized tooling, and technical expertise required to perform these repairs to Navy standards. The evaluation criteria center on the contractor's ability to restore 100% of the test sets to manufacturer specifications and supply the necessary components. The proposal submission deadline is March 20, 2026, with the solicitation notice posted on March 6, 2026.
This solicitation carries no set-aside designation and represents a non-competitive procurement under the sole-source authority provided by 10 U.S.C. Section 3204(a)(1) and FAR 6.103-1-1. Hoffman Engineering, LLC is identified as the incumbent and only responsible source capable of fulfilling the agency's requirements. The notice does not specify an award value or budget range for the contract. The place of performance is listed as Crane, Indiana 47522, and the work falls under NAICS Category 336413 (Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing) and PSC Code 6625 (Electrical and Electronic Properties Measuring and Testing Instruments).
Notice text
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) at Naval Air Station (NAS) Patuxent River, MD, intends to award a sole-source contract to Hoffman Engineering, LLC.
