About this opportunity
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is conducting a pre-solicitation for a contract to develop novel exoskeleton controllers and deliver an advanced rehabilitation robot for use in robot-mediated repetitive task training (RTT) at the Center for Limb Loss and Mobility (CLiMB) of the VA Puget Sound Health Care System. The key objectives are for the contractor, the University of Texas at Austin, to develop and install two novel controllers within the Harmony SHR exoskeleton robot, and to deliver, install, and provide training on the Harmony SHR robot to the VA. The contractor will also collaborate with the VA research team on data analysis and dissemination. The contract has a base year from May 2024 to May 2025 with one optional year, and delivery of the Harmony SHR robot is required by May 30, 2024.
This is a sole source contract opportunity, with the VA intending to award the firm-fixed price contract to the University of Texas at Austin under the authority of FAR 6.302-5 Authorized or required by statute. The NAICS code is 611310 Colleges, Universities and Professional Schools with a $35M size standard. Interested parties may submit capability statements by the April 24, 2024 deadline, but this is not a request for competitive quotes, and no solicitation package will be issued.
