About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 30 units of an audio frequency amplifier (NSN 7H-5996-014314290) with very specific technical requirements. The procurement is a pre-solicitation notice for a highly specialized electronic component that requires ultra-precise manufacturing and repair capabilities. Due to the technical complexity, the government does not currently possess the technical data rights to enable competitive bidding, which significantly constrains potential sources. The agency intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1, though they will consider proposals received within 45 days of publication. Interested parties may submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements demonstrating their ability to meet the stringent technical specifications.
The contract opportunity is not set aside for any specific business category and will be evaluated based on the vendor's ability to meet extremely precise manufacturing and testing requirements. No specific award value is mentioned in the notice, but the procurement involves 30 units of the specialized amplifier to be delivered to DLA Distribution in Tracy, California. The contract is subject to potential Free Trade Agreements and Buy American Act provisions, as indicated by potential DFARS clauses 252.225-7036 and 252.225-7021. The delivery timeline extends through May 30, 2025, providing a broad window for potential contractors to prepare and respond. While the government is not pursuing this as a commercial item acquisition, interested parties have 15 days to demonstrate the potential of a commercial item solution.
