About this opportunity

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), PMA-265 Electronic Warfare Division is conducting market research through a sources-sought notice, with responses due by August 11, 2026, to identify contractors capable of upgrading rain erosion tape for the Leading-Edge Flap (LEF) to equivalent form, fit, and function while addressing obsolescence and sustainment. This is not a request for proposal; the sources-sought process will determine marketplace testing capability and inform potential Small Business Set-Aside opportunities. All small business set-aside categories are under consideration. The original LEF rain erosion tape is degrading and causing reliability and performance deficiencies; the upgrade is driven by operational effectiveness urgency and must maintain full compatibility with current tape specifications. A site visit is required to evaluate suitable sources. Work is classified under PSC 5841 (Radar Equipment, Airborne) and NAICS 334511 (Search, Detection, Navigation, Guidance, Aeronautical, and Nautical System and Instrument Manufacturing). No funds are available to pay for response preparation, and responses are strictly voluntary. The government makes no commitment to award a contract based on this announcement.
