About this opportunity

The Naval Air Systems Command intends to negotiate a delivery order under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement with Thales Defense & Security, Inc. This order is for sustaining engineering evaluation of three pieces of specialized test equipment associated with the AN/AQS-22 Airborne Low Frequency Sonar. The evaluation will assess TDSI's proprietary technical data packages and determine if they meet requirements to successfully complete the effort in a timely and cost effective manner. The period of performance is expected to begin in November 2024.

There is no set-aside designation. TDSI is considered the only responsible source as the original designer, developer and manufacturer of the sonar system components. As the current repair facility for transducers and sole domestic provider with necessary facilities, data and experience, only TDSI is qualified to perform the evaluation. Places of performance include locations in the U.S., Japan, France and Maryland. This is a sole source award justified by FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii). No competitive solicitation will be issued as the work requires substantial initial investment unavailable from other sources.
