The U.S. Geological Survey, National Geospatial Programs Office has a requirement for digital orthoimagery data in Albuquerque, NM. The coverage area will be in around the City of Albuquerque, NM, an area of approximately 2,475 square miles. The USGS has the opportunity to obtain all this orthoimagery from the Mid-Region Council of Governments at approximately 17% of the cost of the entire project because other agencies and local governments are contributing to this project. The orthoimagery data shall be collected to the following specifications: 1) imagery source date: leaf-off flying season for Albuquerque 2) ground resolution: 6-inch or better 3) image type: 24 bit color (RGB) 4) Coordinate System: NM State Plane, Central Zone 5) Horizontal Datum: NAD 1983(1992)/HARN 5) Map Scale: 1:1,200 (1"=100') 6) file format: GeoTiff 7) Tile Size: Full tiles required 8) FGDC-compliant metadata: yes. The data delivery date to the USGS shall be no later than December 30, 2012. All deliverable data and documentation shall be free from restrictions regarding use and distribution.
Based on information available at this time, and in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253, implemented by FAR 6.302-1, the government considers the item specified as a sole source from the Mid Region Council of Governments, 809 Copper Ave NW, Albuquerque, NM 87102-3009 and proposes to negotiate with that firm on that basis. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel that they can furnish the required services and provide considerable cost sharing are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement, and such other materials which correspond to the required items stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Affirmative response shall be received by this office by close of business April 17, 2012 by 3:00 PM Mountain Standard Time. This notice may represent the Government's only official notice of this procurement.
