The Federal Contract Opportunity is for the acquisition of Satellite Imagery Services for detecting Polar Bears in a designated site surrounding Kaktovik, Alaska. The services are required by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Alaska Marine Mammals Management office. The contract is set to run from August 1, 2023, to October 1, 2023, with all deliverables due by November 1, 2023.
List of services and products to be provided:
- Fine-scale satellite imagery from the Pléiades Neo satellite system for detecting polar bears on land in late summer and early autumn.
- Imagery must be acquired at short time intervals, ideally separated by 1 day, but up to a week would likely work.
- Imagery must have a resolution ideally ≤ 30 cm, but not > 50 cm.
- Imagery to be collected surrounding Kaktovik, Alaska, 4 times between 9 August and 1 October, 2023, ideally with pairs of images captured 1-3 days apart.
- Images should have minimal cloud cover (<15%).
- Imagery from the Pléiades Neo sensor.
- Imagery must be < 50 cm resolution.
- Imagery must be captured between 4 August and 1 October 2023.
- Imagery must be captured 4 times, at the designated site surrounding Kaktovik, Alaska.
