About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network 21, announced on August 26, 2026 its intent to sole-source a firm fixed-price contract to Novogene Corporation Inc. for single-cell RNA sequencing services, with a capability statement response deadline of August 31, 2026. The acquisition will proceed under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) as a sole-source award.
VA Palo Alto Health Care System Research Service requires 10x Genomics single-cell RNA sequencing on fresh human samples, including same-day local pickup, immediate processing to preserve RNA integrity, sample quality control, library preparation, sequencing on the Ultima UG100 platform targeting 400 million raw reads per sample, and a complete bioinformatics pipeline covering demultiplexing, alignment, cell calling, clustering, HVG identification, marker gene detection, and enrichment analysis. All work is performed at the contractor's Sacramento, California laboratory, with secure data return via SFTP. The estimated contract value is $18,171.00 with a period of performance of one year from award date.
Although this is not a competitive solicitation, interested parties may submit capability statements to Rachael.Becker@va.gov demonstrating ability to meet all mandatory technical requirements. The Government will use responses solely to determine if a competitive opportunity exists. The work supports transcriptional-level disease biology research requiring advanced single-cell resolution.
