About this opportunity
The Air Force Test Center at Edwards Air Force Base, California is procuring two 10G Ethernet hardware modules manufactured by Avionics Interface Technologies (AIT) under part number UXI-10GE-SW. The specific modules feature two SFP interfaces, support 10/100/1000 Mbps and 10G Ethernet connectivity, and include USB 3 and Ethernet instrument capabilities with HS-SIM for use in an Instrumentation Ethernet Simulator project. This is a commercial acquisition conducted as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) seeking firm-fixed price quotes from responsible offerors who can meet all specified requirements. The government will evaluate quotes in accordance with FAR 52.212-2 for commercial items, focusing on the ability to deliver the exact brand name product specifications. The solicitation was posted on September 5, 2025, with quotes due by September 9, 2025 at 8:00 PM, providing only four days for response submission.
This procurement is set aside for small businesses, with documentation indicating it may specifically target Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) enterprises under NAICS code 334515 for instrument manufacturing. Avionics Interface Technologies appears to be positioned as the sole source supplier, as justified by the Air Force's determination that AIT's Ethernet simulator product was uniquely developed in collaboration with Lockheed Martin for the agency's Tech Refresh 3 instrumentation system. The contract requires delivery of the two hardware modules within 90 days after receipt of order to Building 3736 at Edwards Air Force Base. No specific contract value is disclosed in the available documentation, though the procurement falls under simplified acquisition procedures. The acquisition supports the 412 Test Wing Engineering unit's mission requirements for specialized ethernet simulation capabilities that integrate with existing instrumentation systems.
