About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center at Wright Patterson Air Force Base has issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking market research on Aircraft and Vehicle Scale Calibration Systems. This Special Notice, posted on August 14, 2025, is strictly for informational and planning purposes under the Air Force Metrology and Calibration (AFMETCAL) Program. The agency emphasizes that this RFI does not constitute a commitment to contract for any supplies or services, nor will it consider responses as proposals for contract award. The opportunity falls under NAICS code 334515 for Instrument Manufacturing for Measuring and Testing Electricity and Electrical Signals. Interested parties have until September 15, 2025, to respond to this market research initiative.
The primary objective is to gather information on capabilities for aircraft and vehicle scale calibration systems with specifications requiring a range up to 60,000 lbf and accuracy of 0.025% of applied load or better, compatible with USAF-owned Tovey CS-B300 Series Load Cells. AFMETCAL seeks pricing information for both manually controlled and automated systems to assist with market research and budgeting purposes. Contractors must submit capability statements in Microsoft Word format describing how they would meet the stated requirements, with all response costs borne by the interested parties. No presentations are requested at this time, and the government will not pay for any information or administrative costs associated with responses. The RFI is conducted in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 10 market research guidelines, and responses should provide meaningful feedback on technical capabilities and resources to fulfill the government's requirements.
