About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is procuring one unit of a flight-critical aircraft component under NSN 1R-1680-LLF02L855-P8, specifically for an Air Management Board. This procurement falls under the miscellaneous aircraft accessories and components category and requires delivery FOB origin. The government lacks sufficient technical data to purchase this item through full and open competition, restricting solicitation to previously approved sources only. Contractors seeking to become approved sources must submit comprehensive technical data as outlined in NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Source Approval Information Brochures, with separate requirements for spares and repair capabilities. The government will evaluate proposals based on source approval status and technical data adequacy, with the submission deadline set for September 22, 2025. Offers that fail to provide required source approval documentation or evidence of previous submission will not be considered for award.
This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and is open to all qualified contractors who meet the stringent source approval requirements. No specific incumbent contractors or potential award values are mentioned in the notice, though the specialized nature and flight-critical designation suggest this is likely a high-value, technically complex procurement. The quantity requirement is limited to one unit, indicating this may be for a specific repair or replacement need rather than bulk procurement. The timeline from posting date of May 15, 2025, to the September 22, 2025, deadline provides approximately four months for potential contractors to prepare their proposals and complete any necessary source approval processes. The government has indicated that fleet support needs may drive award decisions if source approval evaluations cannot be completed within the required timeframe, emphasizing the operational urgency of this requirement.
