About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center is seeking contractor support for depot-level repairs, spare part manufacturing, technical support, and data services for Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) Radar Transponder shop replaceable units (SRUs), specifically the APX-119 Advanced Identification Friend or Foe Combined Interrogator Transponder units. The contractor will be responsible for testing and identifying failures, repairing components to the SRU and LRU level, performing operational tests to ensure serviceable condition, and providing storage, program management, and configuration control services. Work scope includes teardown, analysis, repair, testing of spare components, packing, handling, storage, transportation, data collection, and engineering support. This pre-solicitation notice was posted on April 24, 2026, with an indicated due date of May 9, 2026; however, this is explicitly not a Request for Proposal, and the Government will not accept or consider proposals submitted in response to this notice at this time. The electronic and precision equipment repair and maintenance work falls under NAICS code 811210 and PSC code J059.
This acquisition involves no set-aside designations and will utilize DLA's Raytheon Corporate Contract as the current acquisition strategy, indicating Raytheon as a potential incumbent or prime contractor. The contract will address four specific National Stock Numbers with associated part numbers and best estimated quantities: NSN 5841-01-656-1177 (BEQ 38), NSN 5841-01-645-6210 (BEQ 138), NSN 5841-01-614-7844 (BEQ 70), and NSN 5841-01-651-6247 (BEQ 55). The APX-119 systems are expected to remain in operation until 2030, with ongoing efforts to extend their operational life beyond that date, suggesting a long-term sustainment requirement. The Government has determined that these systems involve technology with military applications and are classified as non-commercial items. No specific budget ceiling or award value has been disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice, and interested contractors should monitor for the formal solicitation announcement to obtain detailed specifications and submission requirements.
