About this opportunity

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), on behalf of the Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity (FHEO), has published a Special Notice indicating its intent to award a sole source contract to Othering and Belonging Institute (OBI) at the University of California, Berkeley. The proposed contract would be for a five-year period, with a one-year base and four one-year option years, to provide geospatial segregation and integration data, as well as project management and support services, in support of HUD's Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) initiatives.

The purpose of this Special Notice is to publicly disclose HUD's plan to negotiate a sole source contract with OBI, as the agency has determined that OBI is the only responsible source that can provide the required detailed, nationwide segregation and integration data at the census tract, county, and core-based statistical area (CBSA) level. HUD is not seeking competitive quotes or proposals at this time, but is providing an opportunity for other interested parties to identify their capability to meet the stated requirements. The total estimated contract value is not disclosed, and HUD will consider competitive procurement for any future AFFH support services contracts if additional funding is appropriated.
