About this opportunity
The Washington Army National Guard (WAARNG) has issued a Special Notice for an Architectural and Engineering (A&E) Design Update for a Humidity Controlled Facility located at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) in Washington. The notice, published by the Department of the Army National Guard, indicates the intent to award a Firm Fixed Price purchase order through a non-competitive procurement process. Specifically, the contract will be awarded directly to KMB Architects, Inc., based in Camp Murray, WA. The procurement is classified under the NAICS category for Architectural Services (541310) and will focus on updating a previously awarded design to ensure compliance with current building codes. The special notice emphasizes that this is not a competitive solicitation and that KMB Architects is the sole source deemed capable of meeting the agency's requirements.
The primary objective of this Special Notice is to authorize a design update for the Humidity Controlled Facility, with KMB Architects being the selected contractor to revise the existing architectural plans. The contract will be awarded as a Firm Fixed Price purchase order, with no specific set-aside for small businesses or other special categories. Contractors should note the notice was posted on December 4, 2024, with a due date of December 3, 2024, which appears to be an administrative anomaly. Interested parties seeking additional information are instructed to contact Nicholas Parker via military email at Nicholas.a.parker24.mil@army.mil. The procurement is specifically tailored to KMB Architects and is not open to competitive bidding, as the agency has determined that only this single source can satisfactorily update the design to meet current code requirements. The contract covers the design update and potential future extensions, focusing narrowly on the architectural modifications for the WAARNG facility.
