About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center is conducting market research to identify potential repair sources for Advanced Programmable Signal Processor (APSP) Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) used in AN/APG-68 Radar systems for F-16 C/D Aircraft. This pre-solicitation notice, issued under solicitation number FA8251-26-APSPLRU, seeks to determine whether responsible sources exist and whether the procurement can be competed or set aside for small businesses. Interested parties must respond by February 13, 2026, providing information about their small business status (including eligibility as 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, HUBZone, or Women-Owned concerns), anticipated teaming arrangements, and descriptions of similar services provided to government and commercial customers over the past three years. The government will use responses to determine the most appropriate acquisition strategy, though this notice does not constitute a formal solicitation or commitment to award a contract. Respondents should note that the government will not reimburse any costs incurred in responding to this market research announcement.
No set-aside designation has been applied to this procurement, though the government is actively interested in identifying small business sources. The applicable NAICS code is 811210 (Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance) with a size standard of $22 million, and the PSC category is J016 (Maint/Repair/Rebuild Of Equipment- Aircraft Components And Accessories). Potential offerors must be aware that full qualification as an approved repair source requires meeting extensive requirements documented in the Repair Qualification Requirements file, including facility and testing capability demonstrations, complete technical data package verification, and submission of a qualification test plan, with the qualification process estimated to cost approximately $76,000 and require approximately 1,400 days for completion. Five Source Qualification Waiver Criteria exist that may allow partial exemption from full qualification requirements based on prior experience with similar articles or capabilities. While the pre-solicitation notice does not specify an award value or quantity, the technical documentation references a primary part number of 783R300G01 with NSN 1270-01-396-3088.
