About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 3 mechanical actuators with National Stock Number 7R-1680-014833206-KB, specifically for repair or modification purposes. The solicitation is a pre-solicitation notice with critical requirements around source approval for this flight-critical component. Potential contractors must submit detailed technical data based on their production experience, with a specific focus on meeting the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) source approval requirements. Interested parties must carefully review and comply with the source approval brochures available on the NAVSUP website, and failure to provide all required documentation will result in the offer being disqualified. The key response deadline is July 14, 2025, with the opportunity posted on May 28, 2025.

There is no specific set-aside designation for this contract opportunity, and the solicitation does not identify any incumbent contractors. The procurement is for a small quantity of 3 units, with delivery specified as FOB Origin. Award will be contingent upon the offeror, product, and manufacturer meeting specific qualification requirements in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) clause 52.209-1. The technical complexity of the actuator is emphasized, with the government noting that the rights to use the technical data are not owned by the government and reverse engineering is considered uneconomical. Potential suppliers must demonstrate their capability to produce the exact specifications through comprehensive technical documentation and potential source approval processes.
