About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is procuring an Actuator Assembly (NSN 7R-1680-015503369-V2) classified under Miscellaneous Aircraft Accessories And Components. This is a flight-critical component that requires Government source approval prior to contract award due to the limited availability of technical data and the inability to support full and open competition. Only previously Government-approved sources have been solicited for this procurement. Prospective contractors who are not currently approved sources must submit detailed source approval information as outlined in the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Source Approval Information Brochures, including technical data demonstrating their experience in producing the same or similar items. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on February 23, 2024, with a due date of December 15, 2025, providing potential offerors with an extended period to prepare proposals and submit source approval requests if necessary.
This procurement uses no set-aside designations and is being pursued through unrestricted competition among approved sources only. The contract calls for a delivery quantity of 31 units with FOB Origin delivery terms, representing a relatively modest procurement volume for a specialized aerospace component. While no specific budget range or award value is disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice, the requirement for Government source approval and the flight-critical nature of the actuator assembly indicate this is a specialized procurement with stringent technical and quality standards. Interested contractors not yet approved as sources should begin their source approval process immediately to meet the December 15, 2025 deadline, as the procurement timeline does not allow for delays pending new source approvals.
