About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking repair and modification services for absorber overvoltage equipment under NSN 7H-5920-011082012. The procurement involves 8 units of absorber overvoltage components (part number 1622517-100) to be delivered to Raytheon Company in Indianapolis, Indiana. The government has determined it is uneconomical to acquire the technical data rights or reverse engineer these specialized components, limiting the procurement to qualified sources only. Award will be contingent upon the offeror, product, service, or manufacturer meeting qualification requirements in accordance with FAR clause 52.209-1 at the time of award. The solicitation is scheduled with a due date of July 30, 2025, and interested parties have 15 days from the original notice date to identify their capability to satisfy the requirement with commercial items.

This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, restricting participation to qualified small businesses. Raytheon Company is identified as the delivery location, suggesting they may be the incumbent contractor or end user requiring these specialized components. The procurement falls under PSC category 5920 for Fuses, Arrestors, Absorbers, and Protectors, indicating the technical nature of the equipment involved. The solicitation is subject to Buy American Act provisions and various trade agreements including Free Trade Agreements and the World Trade Organization Government Procurement Agreement. No specific contract value is disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice, though the limited quantity of 8 units suggests a relatively modest procurement focused on maintaining critical defense equipment capabilities.
