Notice text

The Government has awarded a sole source contract to Temple University through the FY20 Joint Warfighter Medical Research program. See attached J&A for the sole source rationale.

Temple University has developed a novel virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) solution that is ultraportable, highly adaptable, and easy to use for accurately identifying balance and vestibular/oculomotor deficits and guiding effective treatment plans. The technology solution being developed and tested here will help identify these risk factors in Veterans, but can be applied to any population at increased risk for falls. The objectives of this project are: 1) Test accuracy of the novel device for assessing balance and oculomotor function in civilians; 2) Test accuracy of the novel device for assessing balance and oculomotor function in Veterans; and 3) Establish validity and reliability of the novel HMD-based assessments in each population.

Awarded contract W81XWH-21-C-0048 to TEMPLE UNIVERSITY-OF THE COMMONWEALTH SYSTEM OF HIGHER EDUCATION for 1201221.00 on 2021-07-09.
