About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Technology Acquisition Center in Eatontown, New Jersey is procuring two Censitrac All in One (AiO) hardware sets to support the El Paso VA Health Care System's Real Time Location System for medical instrument tracking. Each hardware set includes a 22-inch medical personal computer, FIPS 140 compliant wireless scanner, and waterproof keyboard with integrated touchpad mouse, all specifically designed to work with the existing Censis annual software solution for tracking medical instruments through decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and storage processes. The procurement is being conducted as a sole source acquisition under FAR Subpart 6.302-1, justified because the VA's entire infrastructure is based on Censis Censitrac hardware and software, and no other vendor can provide compatible solutions. Award will be made to the lowest-priced, responsive, responsible respondent on a firm-fixed-price basis. The solicitation closes on September 2, 2025 at 10:00 AM EDT, with questions directed to Contract Specialist Jennifer Jefferson, and the anticipated award date is September 12, 2025.

This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and is specifically targeted to Censis Technologies, Inc. of Franklin, Tennessee as the sole source contractor, as they are the only authorized provider of Censitrac technology in the North American market. While the exact contract value is not disclosed, the justification document notes that replacing the existing infrastructure would cost over $245,259 and require a minimum of 12 months to implement. The contract covers the procurement of exactly two complete AiO hardware sets with delivery required within six weeks of contract award. Performance will primarily involve delivery to the El Paso VA Health Care System, with the hardware supporting critical patient safety functions through proper medical instrument trackability within the VA's existing technological ecosystem.
