About this opportunity
This Special Notice from the Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a sole source contract to Medicom Technologies Inc. for Medicom Image Transfer Software. This software facilitates the electronic exchange of radiology imaging exams and reports between VA facilities and commercial healthcare providers serving VA patients across VISN 19 Veterans Health Administration locations.
The purpose of the Special Notice is to improve radiology services for veterans by expediting the transfer of exams and reports through the use of Medicom's software. The VA intends to award a sole source contract to Medicom as the only responsible source able to meet the requirement, with a deadline for notice responses of May 28, 2023. The software enables electronic transfer between the VA and outside providers coded under NAICS 541519 for software services. It will support the VA's efforts to provide faster radiology services under the statutory authority of 41 U.S.C 1901 and FAR 13.106-1(b)(2) for restricting competition when only one source can satisfy the need.
