About this opportunity

The Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital in Hines, Illinois, through the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Integrated Service Network 12, is conducting a Sources Sought Notice to identify vendors capable of supplying commercial floor cleaning equipment under NAICS Code 335210 (Small Electrical Appliance Manufacturing). The Government seeks brand name or equal commercial equipment consisting of floor machines/polishers and wet/dry vacuums suitable for facility cleaning operations. Key requirements include a 20-inch cleaning path floor polisher with a heavy-duty induction motor rated at minimum 1.5 HP, all-metal chassis construction, dual-capacitor design, ergonomic handle, and UL/ETL certification, as well as an 18-gallon commercial wet/dry vacuum with corrosion-resistant tank, commercial-grade motor, and comparable certifications. This is strictly a market research inquiry and does not constitute a formal solicitation or government commitment at this time. Interested vendors must submit responses via email to Patrick Trzeciak at patrick.trzeciak@va.gov no later than 3:00 p.m. CDT on April 13, 2026, and must include qualifications, business size and socioeconomic status, manufacture location, product availability information, and distributor authorization documentation if applicable.

This notice carries no set-aside designation and is open to Other Than Small Businesses and Small Businesses, including VetCert-certified Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSB) and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB). The Government is seeking quantities of 20 units each of the two line items—the Clarke CFP Pro 20HD or equal floor polisher and the Clarke 18-Gallon Shovelnose wet/dry vacuum or equal. No specific award value or budget range is disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice, as this is a market research phase designed to assess vendor interest and capability rather than a formal procurement action. The small business size standard for NAICS Code 335210 is 1,500 employees, which will apply to any subsequent formal solicitation. Vendors are encouraged to indicate whether products are available through the Federal Supply Schedule or open market channels.
