About this opportunity
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is seeking armed security guard services in response to severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, and flooding that occurred in Mississippi in March 2025. The Request for Information (RFI) targets contractors to provide security services at FEMA joint field offices, disaster recovery sites, and community engagement events across 20 specified Mississippi counties. Contractors must submit a capabilities statement demonstrating their ability to manage, supervise, train, equip, and provide licensed security personnel, including pre-employment screenings and necessary documentation. The RFI requires interested businesses to provide their SAM registration status, Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) number, and confirm active SAM registration. The response deadline is 4:00 pm CT on June 2, 2025, with submissions to be emailed to Contracting Officer Ashlee Young using the specific RFI subject line.
The procurement is designated as a local area set-aside, with preference given to businesses residing or primarily operating in the specified Mississippi counties, though non-local contractors are welcome to respond. The solicitation specifically encourages small business participation to help determine competitive potential. The contract falls under NAICS code 561612 for Security Guards and Patrol Services, with a Professional Support Services PSC code of R430 for physical security and badging. While no specific award value or contract duration is mentioned, the RFI is explicitly part of FEMA's market research process under Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 10.001(a)(3). The notice emphasizes that this RFI does not constitute a formal solicitation and that any submitted information is subject to potential disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act.
