About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 15 published a Special Notice announcing intent to award a sole source blanket purchase agreement. The notice seeks to establish a cost-per-test and cost-per-reportable-result agreement for automated chemistry, immunochemistry instrumentation, automation, and associated testing to support clinical laboratory workflow at VISN 15 facilities.

The Special Notice intends to negotiate solely with incumbent Abbott Laboratories for a base year plus four option years to continue services and products under an existing Federal Supply Schedule contract. Interested parties may submit capability statements by December 1, 2022 for consideration, however the notice suggests negotiating only with Abbott if no acceptable responses are received, due to resources already invested in their equipment. The estimated total value of the agreement is $10 million to support testing needs across multiple VISN 15 healthcare facilities.
