About this opportunity
This Special Notice from the Department of Veterans Affairs announces the intent to sole source a contract with TERA-Print LLC for a 3D bioprinting system. The Tucson VA Medical Center requires a nano-printing system capable of generating bioconstructs from 100 nanometers to the microscale to develop novel bioengineered devices. Only the TERA-Fab EM Tandem Series from TERA-Print utilizes the necessary specialized, proprietary polymer pen lithography technology to meet this need.
The objective is to procure a 3D nano-printing system that can generate bio-constructs at the sub-100 nanometer to micro-scale range in order to develop novel bioengineered devices for tissue engineering, cellular biology, drug discovery, and microbiology research. Interested contractors must submit capability statements by April 12th if they believe they can meet the requirement. As the sole manufacturer of the TERA-Fab EM Tandem system and with no approved alternative suppliers available, TERA-Print is designated as the only responsible source according to FAR 6.302-1. A determination on competition will be made solely at the agency's discretion following the response period.
