This procurement, valued at approximately $114,800 over a base year plus four option years, is specifically for SARS-COV-2 reagents, Trichomonas reagents, and associated consumables and universal fluids required to operate the Hologic Panther Fusion analyzer that the Syracuse VA Molecular Laboratory purchased in 2024. The VA has established that Hologic is the sole manufacturer of compatible assay kits for their analyzer, with extensive market research conducted across multiple platforms confirming no alternative vendors exist. Contractors have until October 15, 2025 at 4:00 PM Eastern Time to respond, though this is not a competitive solicitation and responses must demonstrate "clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government." The procurement explicitly prohibits gray market items and follows Simplified Acquisition Procedures under FAR 13.106-1 guidelines. If no qualifying competitive responses are received by the deadline, the contract will be awarded directly to Hologic without further notice.
