Salient Characteristics:

Pharmacy patient check-in functions as the transaction window station for prescription intake. One window is designed to have 34 high ADA working countertop with casework below providing space to hold equipment and supplies. Casework is designed with the following components: solid surface countertop, under counter printer drawer storage, knee space for 4 workstations to intake orders, and prewired modular hospital grade duplex outlets and data boxes. Above each check in workstation is a Lexan transaction window with a no draft speak thru tube. Lexan is an amorphous engineering thermoplastic with high impact strength and outstanding clarity. Each check in window workstation is separated by a modular wall to provide patient privacy. Check In area to have 3 modular walls 8 feet tall and 80 long. Overall dimensions: SEE DRAWINGS.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR MODULAR MILLWORK

All surfaces must be cleanable with hospital grade germicides and bleach solutions without harm to finishes.

Cabinets constructed of HPL over a ½ minimal thickness low VOC substrate with all edges sealed with matching edge- band.

Cabinet interiors fully HPL or LPL lined with no exposed substrate.

Warranty- Limited Lifetime

To include minimum of the following specifications:

A component-based line of cabinetry and coordinating work tops to be used in labs and pharmacy spaces to supply a built- in look while maintaining the quality and flexibility of a modular approach. A wide variety of fully modular cabinet components available for upper and lower storage.

Drawer construction options of standard box type with replaceable drawer front and unitary interior box for use in healthcare.

Full extension steel ball bearing drawer glides.

Work top surface uses Solid Surface material.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

Materials:

*Core material shall be particle board conforming to CS 236-66 45 pound, B density, Class 1 of Type 1

*Laminated plastic for general construction shall be 1/32 or 1/16 thick high-pressure type

*All top, side and bottom panels and shelf panels shall be laminated with

high pressure laminate including cabinet interiors in the same color and finish as selected for exposed surfaces.

*Adhesive for laminate shall be urea-formaldehyde resin free.

*Edge moldings shall be PVC edge band and appear on all edges of the casework that are visibly exposed. Molding shall be the same thickness as shelf when on shelf, counter molding shall be 1-1/4 wide and flush with worksurface.

*Shelving shall be 3/4" thick core with laminate on both sides.

*Casework shall be fabricated using flush construction methods with modern machinery.

*Casework shall be delivered fully constructed and ready for installation. Each unit shall be self-supporting and permit relocation. The sharing of component parts to form a rigid, modular, free-standing assembly shall not be acceptable

Features:

*Unit shall be free standing with ability to anchor to floor or walls.

*Unit shall have a non-adjustable bottom shelf that is the base of the cabinet positioned on top of the toe kick

*Unit shall have a 4" toe kick.

Drawers:

*Drawer module inserts shall be individual modular units that are completely removable and relocatable without being disassembled.

*Drawer suspension shall have full extension travel, full steel ball bearings of carbonized steel and a positive stop and lock-in closed position (self-closing drawer slides).

*Doors and drawer fronts shall be a minimum of 13/16" thick with composed out of the same material as the cabinetry finished with high pressure laminate.

Worksurfaces:

*Countertop shall run the length of the end panels and be composed out of a solid surface material. Core shall be 1- 1/8" thick with 1/16" laminate finish.

*Backsplash and returns shall be provided where shown on drawings.

*All exposed edges shall be radiused ¼ .

Electrical:

*Units are prewired with electrical from the factory and support the data as required.

All modular casework should be field verified prior to purchase/installation. Building contractor to pull wiring. Either construction or activation contractor to have licensed electrician make the connections from building to modular casework.

*Electrical fixtures shall be Hospital Grade 20 amps, 120 volt, 3-wire polarized

grounded duplex receptacles.

*Grommet holes to be drilled on site after installation of equipment for proper coordination.

Quality Assurance:

*Manufacturer must have a minimum of 5 years experience in providing manufactured casework for similar types of projects. Manufacturer facility must be certified to premium grade by the AWI Quality Certification Program.

*All pharmacy casework included in this specification shall be made by a pharmacy casework manufacturer who is a specialist in the design and manufacture of pharmacy casework and has in operation, a factory adequate in size, with facilities for and devoted to the manufacture of the equipment he or his distributor proposes to supply. This requirement is stated for the Owners protection to eliminate any divided responsibility and to ensure that all completed assemblies shall be in harmony and uniform in design, color, type of hardware, etc., for the completed facility/installation.

*A minimum of five years experience in the design, sale, manufacture, shipping, and installation of the quality and type of pharmacy casework specified herein shall be required

Finishes:

*Countertop- Solid surface (Insert manufacturer/color).

*Casing, shelves, end panels- Laminate (Insert manufacturer/color), with PVC edge banding to match laminate. Final finishes to be approved by X.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR LEXAN TRANSACTION WINDOW WITH SPEAK TUBE

The transaction window shall be Lexan (PC) Polycarbonate, non-opening, and the entire window frame shall be painted in accordance with AAMA Specification 603.8 with 6 clearance at the bottom.

Lexan (PC) Polycarbonate is in compliance with stringent FDA and USP requirements.

No draft speak thru tube shall be satin anodized aluminum 5-5/16 diameter.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR MODULAR WALL AT CHECK IN WINDOWS

Free standing wall panel 8 feet tall with polystyrene core.

Vinyl covered gypsum board both sides of wall

3 thick composite sandwich panels, with outside and inside to be ½ class A fire-shield gypsum board with a vinyl finish

*Casework shall be delivered fully constructed and ready for installation. Each unit shall be self-supporting and permit relocation. The sharing of component parts to form a rigid, modular, free-standing assembly shall not be acceptable

Features:

*Unit shall be free standing with ability to anchor to floor or walls.

*Unit shall have a non-adjustable bottom shelf that is the base of the cabinet positioned on top of the toe kick

*Unit shall have a 4" toe kick.

*Shelving Units shall have 7 adjustable shelves.

*Steel supports/back panels: shall be capable to support up to 600 pounds. Finish shall be powder coated paint that shall be coordinated with laminate finish. They should include slant brackets at 2 intervals, a retainer clip and shall allow for the adjustment of shelves on steel pins. Back panels shall be removable and able to incorporate electrical duplex boxes.

Drawers:

*Drawer module inserts shall be individual modular units that are completely removable and relocatable without being disassembled.

*Drawer suspension shall have full extension travel, full steel ball bearings of carbonized steel and a positive stop and lock-in closed position (self-closing drawer slides).

*Doors and drawer fronts shall be a minimum of 13/16" thick with composed out of the same material as the cabinetry finished with high pressure laminate.

Worksurfaces:

*Countertop shall run the length of the end panels and be composed out of a solid surface material. Core shall be 1- 1/8" thick with 1/16" laminate finish.

*Backsplash and returns shall be provided where shown on drawings.

*All exposed edges shall be radiused ¼ .

Shelves:

*All shelves shall be 3/4 thick core with high pressure laminate on both sides.

*All shelves noted as being sloping shall also adjust to a flat position. Adjustable vertically on 1" centers and from horizontal to 15, 30, and 45-degree slope down.

*All shelves shall be completely reversible with retainer lips being turned up, down, or to the back as required for use.

*All top, side, and bottom panels and shelf panels shall be laminated with high pressure laminate including cabinet interiors in the same color and finishes as selected for the exposed surfaces. All cabinet backs will have HPL on interior surface.

Electrical:

*Units are prewired with electrical from the factory and support the data as required.

All modular casework should be field verified prior to purchase/installation. Building contractor to pull wiring. Either construction or activation contractor to have licensed electrician make the connections from building to modular casework.

*Electrical fixtures shall be Hospital Grade 20 amps, 120 volt, 3-wire polarized

grounded duplex receptacles.

*Grommet holes to be drilled on site after installation of equipment for proper coordination.

Quality Assurance:

*Manufacturer must have a minimum of 5 years experience in providing manufactured casework for similar types of projects. Manufacturer facility must be certified to premium grade by the AWI Quality Certification Program.

*All pharmacy casework included in this specification shall be made by a pharmacy casework manufacturer who is a specialist in the design and manufacture of pharmacy casework and has in operation, a factory adequate in size, with facilities for and devoted to the manufacture of the equipment he or his distributor proposes to supply. This requirement is stated for the Owners protection to eliminate any divided responsibility and to ensure that all completed assemblies shall be in harmony and uniform in design, color, type of hardware, etc., for the completed facility/installation.

*A minimum of five years experience in the design, sale, manufacture, shipping, and installation of the quality and type of pharmacy casework specified herein shall be required

Finishes:

*Countertop- Solid surface (Insert manufacturer/color).

*Casing, shelves, end panels- Laminate (Insert manufacturer/color), with PVC edge banding to match laminate. Final finishes to be approved by X.

Pharmacy Custom Cabinetry/Pharmacy Casework Salient Characteristics

Materials:

Core material shall be particle board conforming to CS 236-66 45 pound B density Class 1 Type 1

Laminated plastic for general construction shall be 1/32 or 1/16 thick high-pressure type

All top, side and bottom panels and shelf panels shall be laminated with high pressure laminate including cabinet interiors in the same color and finish as selected for exposed surfaces

Adhesive for laminate shall be urea-formaldehyde resin free

Edge moldings shall be PVC edge band and appear on all edges of the casework that are visibly exposed. Molding shall be the same thickness as shelf when on shelf, counter molding shall be 1-1/2 wide and flush with work surface

Doors and drawer fronts shall be a minimum of 13/16 thick with composed out of the same material as the cabinetry finished with high pressure laminate

Unit shall have self-closing drawer slides with nylon rollers

Countertop shall run the length of the end panels and be composed out of high pressure laminate or solid surface materials as the drawings describe. Core shall be 1-1/8 thick with 1/16 laminate finish

Unit shall have a 4 toe kick

Casework shall be fabricated using flush construction methods with modern machinery

Shelving shall be 3/4 thick core with laminate on both sides.

Hardware:

Hinges shall be concealed, self-closing and 3-way adjustable. They shall be constructed out of nickel plated steel with 110 degree opening

Shelves shall be 3/4 thick solid core panels with reversible retainer lips

Worksurfaces:

Countertop shall run the length of the end panels and be composed out of a solid surface material. Core shall be 1- 1/8" thick with 1/16" laminate finish.

Backsplash and returns shall be provided where shown on drawings.

All exposed edges shall be radiused ¼ .

Drawers:

Shall have sides that are 3/4" thick. All inserts for drawers shall be interchangeable between units and self-contained. Drawers shall have full travel extension, movement on steel ball bearings with positive stop and lock in closed position

Electrical:

Raceways for electrical and communication service lines to be included where electrical and data coordination is required. Lines shall be 2 wide rib construction with 1/8 Masonite glued to both sides of ribs. Ribs shall be able to be screwed to cabinetry.

Electrical fixtures shall be 20-amp 120 volt, 3-wire polarized ground duplex receptacle. Fixtures shall be UL listed hospital grade receptacles

All fixtures, conduit or fittings shall be compliant with NFPA and NEC

Task Lighting:

Task light shall include mounting brackets

Cabinet shall be designed with components in order for left to right

Finish:

Casing, shelves, end panels-Laminate with edge banding to match laminate

PVC edge banding to match laminate

Solid Surface Countertops

Final finishes to be approved by VA pharmacy prior to purchase

Modular Wall:

CE-300 Free standing wall panel 8 feet tall with polystyrene core

Vinyl covered gypsum board both sides of wall

3 thick composite sandwich panels, with outside and inside be ½ Class A Fire-shield gypsum board with a vinyl finish

Core shall be one pound density polystyrene laminated with a structural adhesive. The core shall have the following mechanical properties: shear strength (flatwise) 18-22 PSI; shear modulus (flatwise) 280-320 PSI; water absorption rate shall be less than 4%; and STC value 32

Insulated to a minimum of R-11

Every 4 will have an aluminum extruded post with snap cover to house all the electrical components

All posts and window trim painted to match the wall covering

3 x3 steel tubes for support no baseplates

Polystyrene Core shall have the following mechanical properties: Shear strength (flatwise) 18 -22 PSI Shear Modulus (flatwise) 280 - 320 PSI The water absorption rate shall be less than 4% STC Value

Lexan Transaction Window with Speak Tube:

The transaction window shall be Lexan (PC) Polycarbonate, non-opening, and the entire window frame shall be painted in accordance with AAMA Specification 603.8 with 6 clearance at the bottom.

Lexan (PC) Polycarbonate is in compliance with stringent FDA and USP requirements.

No draft speak thru tube shall be satin anodized aluminum 5-5/16 diameter.

CRL No-Draft Speak-throughs designed to allow audible transmission of voice requests

Prevents tampering from the outside and stops drafts to the interior
