About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Pittsburgh Medical Center is seeking potential suppliers for portable sleep monitoring units, specifically the Watch-PAT300 or equivalent devices that can monitor patients' sleep cycles at home. The Sources Sought Notice is designed to gather information about qualified sources under NAICS code 334510 for electromedical apparatus manufacturing. Interested vendors must be active in the System for Award Management (SAM) and provide comprehensive responses including company details, socioeconomic status, product specifications, and country of origin. Responses are due by January 21, 2025, at 10:00 AM EST and must be submitted directly to Contract Specialist Matthew Edwards via email. The VA is particularly interested in devices capable of measuring advanced sleep metrics such as AHI, central AHI, apnea episodes, snoring, body position, oxygen levels, heart rate, and sleep stages using Peripheral Arterial Tonometry technology.
In alignment with the Kingdomware Supreme Court decision, service-disabled veteran-owned (SDVOSB) and veteran-owned small businesses (VOSB) will receive special consideration, provided they are verified in the VetCert Registry. While this is a pre-solicitation notice with no explicit set-aside designations, the VA is seeking comprehensive information about potential vendors' capabilities and socioeconomic status. The procurement will require precise delivery and tracking through the BioMed and Logistics Department, with facility-based "EE" number assignments. Vendors must indicate their business size classification, including whether they are a small business, veteran-owned, HUB Zone certified, or women-owned enterprise. Although specific award values are not disclosed in this notice, respondents are encouraged to provide quotations for the proposed products and demonstrate their ability to meet the VA's technical and logistical requirements.
