About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 6, on behalf of Richmond VAMC for the Fredericksburg Health Care Center, is conducting market research through a Sources Sought notice to identify qualified vendors capable of supplying an industrial collaborative robot arm by July 6, 2026, at 4:00 PM Eastern Time.
Place of performance is the Fredericksburg Health Care Center. The robot arm must meet detailed technical specifications including a minimum 25-kilogram payload, 1750-millimeter reach, minimum 6 degrees of freedom, and 245-millimeter diameter base footprint. Electrical requirements are 110–120V 60Hz VAC with maximum 750-watt consumption. The system must incorporate force sensing (X-Y-Z) with 200.0-newton minimum range and 5.5-newton precision; torque sensing with 20.0-newton-meter minimum range and 0.2-newton precision; 360-degree working range in all joints; and environmental ratings of IP65 for the robot arm and IP44 for the control box with noise under 65 decibels (A). The vision system must scan at 3 hertz or faster with field of view of 179 × 115 to 282 × 175 millimeters or wider. The image processing computer requires an 8-core NVIDIA ARM Cortex-A78AE v8.2 64-bit CPU with 157 or more teraoperations per second performance, Ampere GPU with 1,024 CUDA cores and 32 tensor cores or better, 16 gigabytes memory, and 128 gigabytes SSD storage. The gripper must provide 85-millimeter stroke, 20–235-newton grip force, and 5-kilogram minimum grip payload. Vendors must submit capabilities statements, SAM registration confirmation, small business status certification, authorized distributor letters, and SDVOSB/VOSB certifications if applicable. Responses may indicate interest in Federal Supply Schedule quotes or open market purchases. No set-aside applies.
