About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 6, located at Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center, has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to conduct a sole-source procurement with Alliant Enterprises, LLC. The notice is specifically for a ParWire Combo mobile wire cart, classified under NAICS code 423450 for Medical, Dental, and Hospital Equipment and Supplies Merchant Wholesalers. The procurement will be executed under the authority of VAAR 819.7008, which allows sole-source awards to verified service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses. The equipment in question is a 24 x 60 x 80 two-shelf wire cart to be delivered to the Wake County VA Outpatient Clinic. The proposed contract has a defined performance period from March 10, 2025, to June 10, 2025.
The primary objective of this Special Notice is to procure specific medical equipment through a direct, sole-source procurement method with strict vendor qualifications. Interested parties must submit their capability statements to Ricardo.McIntosh@va.gov by March 4, 2025, at 12:00 PM EST, with telephone inquiries explicitly not being accepted. Vendor eligibility requires being an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), authorized dealer, authorized distributor, or authorized reseller, which must be verified through documentation demonstrating OEM warranty and service provisions. The VA emphasizes that only new OEM medical supplies and equipment will be acceptable, with explicit prohibition of gray market or remanufactured items. Any delivery of unauthorized items would constitute a contract breach, potentially resulting in contract termination or mandatory replacement at the vendor's expense. The government retains full discretion to determine whether to proceed with the proposed contract based on received responses, and no formal solicitation will be made available.
