About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Integrated Service Network 8 is conducting a sources-sought market research for patient transfer equipment, with responses due July 17, 2026, anticipated to result in an FSS procurement set aside for Small Business, potentially further restricted to Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) if sufficient responses are received; if SDVOSB responses prove insufficient, the requirement may fall back to Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB), then Small Business (SB), then unrestricted competition.
C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center, Bay Pines, Florida, requires a Raizer II Battery Mobile Lifting Chair (name brand or equal) and slings for patient lifts to support fall recovery at Community-Based Outpatient Clinics. The equipment must lift patients 300 pounds minimum with a maximum safe working load of 150 kilograms, operate on lithium-ion battery power, complete lifts in 20–30 seconds using only one caregiver, and deliver a minimum of 75 lifts per single charge. The chair requires a 27-inch seat width without foam seats, 12-volt charger, aluminum frame, transport bag, battery indicator panel, and sound and light assembly indicators. The contractor must provide installation training and support for staff at each CBOCS location and furnish equipment warranty covering 1–5 years of maintenance.
Responding vendors should submit capability statements, letters of authorized supply and distribution, and supporting documentation to Contracting Officer Michael A. Shook at michael.shook@va.gov by July 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM Eastern Time.

Please direct reply in the affirmative via email if you are interested and can provide the required product/service for this requirement. GENERAL: C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center Veterans Hospital, 10,000 Bay Pines Blvd Bay Pines, FL Â 33744, has a requirement for a new Raizer II Battery Mobile Lifting Chair Name Brand or Equal, and slings for patient lifts.
BACKGROUND: Outpatient clinics frequently experience patient falls involving individuals who cannot independently stand but are otherwise medically stable. Staff rely on manual lifting techniques that place them at high risk for injury and violate SPHM principles. This provides a controlled, mechanical method to raise a fallen patient from the floor to a seated position without manual lifting. Fall recovery in CBOCS involves nursing assisting the veteran to a standing position or calling 911. Some patients just want nurses to assist them into a standing position after they have been cleared to get up. When staff allow a veteran to pull them on, we cannot control how much weight they are putting on staff. Fall recovery is mandated by Directive 1611 to have equipment. CBOCs do not have fall recovery equipment because they do not have the space. They need a recovery chair that is low profile. The raiser chair was chosen after market research was completed. The Raizer Lifting Chair will allow staff to get veterans up in a timely fashion, reduce potential for injury to veterans and staff and is small and compact and easy to store in the CBOC locations including Lee County

.FUNCTIONAL AND PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS: Fall recovery devices that help lift a fallen person off the floor safely. Equipment must provide the functional and performance capability as listed above in section in above.

Government will not require additional training. Safe Patient Handling and Mobility Program Manager will then train staff at each CBOC location.
