About this opportunity

NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Philadelphia is conducting market research through this Sources Sought Notice to identify contractors capable of manufacturing new spares or providing commercially certified overhauled parts for NSN 6220 016553234, P/N 72500410-1, which is a landing light component used on the P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft. The component is an unmodified commercial common item shared between the P-8A and Boeing 737-800 commercial airliner, though the government does not possess proprietary technical data or drawings that may be required for manufacturing. Contractors must be able to provide FAA-certified parts with FAA Authorized Release Certificate and FAA Form 8130-3 Airworthy Approval Tag, and must comply with FAR Part 12, DFARS Part 212, and NMCARS 5212 commercial item acquisition regulations. Interested parties must submit responses including company information, CAGE code, manufacturing capabilities, OEM status, small business classification, and technical capacity explanations. The submission deadline was April 10, 2025, with responses required via email to the designated contracting officer.

Currently, no set-aside designation has been determined, though the agency specifically seeks small business firms including service-disabled veteran-owned, HUBZone-certified, and 8(a) certified businesses, and the final procurement method will depend on market research results with potential for either small business set-aside or full and open competition. No incumbent contractors or current suppliers are identified in the notice. The procurement falls under NAICS code 335999 for miscellaneous electrical equipment and component manufacturing and PSC code 6220 for electric vehicular lights and fixtures. No specific quantities, award values, or performance timelines are provided in this market research phase. This is strictly a capability assessment with no current solicitation, and the government assumes no financial responsibility for response costs.
