About this opportunity

The United States Coast Guard is conducting market research to identify sources capable of leasing or selling a 60-ton floating barge crane for the Philippines Navy. The primary objective is to support naval maintenance operations by acquiring a crane that can handle heavy lifting tasks such as moving auxiliary and main engines, and facilitating boat beaching procedures. Interested vendors must provide comprehensive details including organization information, manufacturer specifications, training and maintenance service details, warranty information, and lease terms. The Request for Information (RFI) seeks voluntary submissions from potential suppliers, with responses due by January 31, 2025. Key evaluation criteria will include the crane's technical specifications, which require a full deck length of 47.5 meters, a draft of 4 meters, and specific lifting capacities ranging from 15 to 60 tons depending on the crane's positioning.

The procurement opportunity is not set aside for any specific business category, making it open to all qualified vendors. The proposed delivery location is the Naval Station Pascual Ledesma Fort San Felipe in Cavite City, Philippines. While no specific award value is mentioned, the contract includes options for either a 12-month lease with potential extension or the purchase of a refurbished floating barge crane. The crane must meet precise technical requirements, including a cargo deck area of 20 x 14 meters and a gross tonnage of 859 tons. The Coast Guard emphasizes that this RFI is not a formal solicitation, and respondents should not include proprietary or sensitive information in their submissions. Potential suppliers are advised that failure to respond with sufficiently detailed information may result in being overlooked in future procurement considerations.
