About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Land and Maritime is conducting a pre-solicitation market survey to identify sources capable of manufacturing sensitive switches (NSN 5930-00-138-8528). The agency is seeking information from manufacturers, dealers, and distributors regarding their capability to produce this component to the same quality standards or better than existing approved sources. Respondents must demonstrate their manufacturing capabilities, commercial sales history, technical specifications, and willingness to comply with federal contracting requirements including SAM registration and potential cost/pricing data submission. Companies not currently listed as approved sources will be required to submit a Source Approval Request (SAR) package to DLA for evaluation prior to contract award. The deadline for submitting market survey responses is January 13, 2026, with submissions directed to Brian Maxwell at brian.maxwell@dla.mil.
This opportunity carries no set-aside designation and currently recognizes four approved sources: PTI Technologies Inc., Vacco Industries, Illinois Tool Works Inc., and Airtronics LLC, all of which manufacture components under part number 2733340-1 or equivalent designations. The procurement involves a requirement for 19 units with a mandated delivery timeline of 303 days and is structured as a Firm Fixed Price contract. While no specific award value is disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, the market survey document indicates this is a potential firm fixed price contract for the noted quantity. The agency is actively seeking alternative qualified manufacturers through the Alternate Offer/Source Approval Program, allowing prospective contractors to apply for approved source status by submitting comprehensive technical documentation demonstrating product equivalency or superiority to currently approved items.
