About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure two air compressors with National Stock Number 4310011611736, with delivery specified as FOB Origin. This pre-solicitation notice indicates the government intends to negotiate with a single source under FAR 6.302-1, though all responsible sources may identify their interest and capability to respond within 45 days of publication. Qualification requirements will be critical for award, with the ultimate awardee needing to be an approved supplier that meets specific criteria at the time of contract award. The government has determined it is uneconomical to purchase data rights or reverse engineer the part, limiting potential competitive sources. Interested parties can obtain relevant specifications and standards through the DoD Single Stock Point (DODSSP) in Philadelphia, PA, using online resources like ASSIST-Online or by contacting the ASSIST Help Desk.

The pre-solicitation notice does not indicate a specific set-aside designation, and no incumbent contractors are mentioned. While the exact award value is not specified, the procurement involves two units of an air compressor with reference number N20NL-7. The opportunity is classified under NAICS code 332722 for Bolt, Nut, Screw, Rivet, and Washer Manufacturing and PSC category 5310 for Nuts and Washers. The government will not use FAR Part 12 policies for commercial items, and the solicitation allows interested parties to identify commercial item capabilities within 15 days of the notice. The contract timeline extends until December 13, 2024, providing potential vendors significant time to prepare and respond to the opportunity.
