About this opportunity
The United States Air Forces in Europe - Air Forces Africa is conducting a sources sought notice for fire alarm systems at five Royal Air Force installations in the United Kingdom: RAF Alconbury, RAF Croughton, RAF Fairford, RAF Molesworth, and RAF Welford. The procurement specifically targets fire detection and alarm services, with particular focus on components required for the Monaco D-21 Windows 11 software upgrade. The government intends to pursue sole source procurement under FAR Part 6.302-1 (Only One Responsible Source) unless equivalent sources are identified through this market research effort. Interested vendors must submit clearly articulated product information demonstrating their capability to provide equivalent systems to the sole source components. All responses must be received by 16:00 GMT on July 15, 2025, and should be submitted to Contract Specialist Calin Moloiu and Contracting Officer Jason D. Falkner with "Fire Detection and Alarm" in the email subject line.
This opportunity does not include any set-aside designations and is open to all responsible sources under NAICS code 334290 (Other Communications Equipment Manufacturing). No incumbent contractors or current service providers are specifically identified in the notice, though the government's intent to sole source suggests an existing relationship with a particular vendor for the Monaco D-21 system components. The notice does not specify contract values, budget ranges, or quantities of equipment required, indicating these details will be provided in the subsequent sole source justification posting. The timeline focuses primarily on the current market research phase, with the July 15, 2025 deadline for vendor responses being the only concrete date provided. The government emphasizes that this sources sought notice is not a request for competitive proposals and that responses will be considered solely at the government's discretion.
