DESCRIPTION: The James A. Haley VA Hospital in Tampa, Fl intends to solicit a commercial (FAR Part 12) competitive requirement for Blood Compatibility Testing Products and Services via FedBizOpps.gov Electronic Posting System at http://www.fbo.gov . The North America Industry Classification System Code [NAICS] is 621991, Blood and Organ Banks and the size standard is $30 Million. This is notice of intent solicit competition to the maximum extent practicable for this service. More detailed information will be found in the solicitation document to include a detailed scope of work and price schedule. The release date of the solicitation is May 14, 2013 with a proposal due by June 13, 2013. The contractor shall provide all blood compatibility testing products and services to the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, 13000 Bruce B. Downs Blvd., Tampa, FL in accordance with the specifications of the solicitation/contract. Interested sources are responsible for reading the solicitation in it's entirety when posted and to provide a well organized proposal addressing all questions. No questions shall be accepted until the solicitation is posted. Questions are due by May 28, 2013. Questions may be sent by e-mail to keith.adams@va.gov. No telephonic inquiries will be accepted.
The Contractor shall provide, on a 24 hour, 7 day a week basis, all blood transfusion and transfusion-related services, including without limitation, compatibility testing, and all personnel, supplies and equipment therefore. Such services shall be provided to the James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital, as needed according to acceptable AABB Accreditation Standards, including emergency situations. Compatibility testing shall be defined to include all crossmatching, all type and screen, all antibody identifications, all antibody elutions, and all reference laboratory workups.
