About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers St. Paul District is soliciting quotes for 20 sections of 46-foot abrasion resistant spiral butt-welded pipes for the Dredge Goetz project. These specialized pipes will be used to transfer dredged material across areas containing sharp or abrasive objects like gravel, rocks, and concrete. The technical specifications require precise pipe characteristics, including a minimum 20-inch inside diameter, 21-inch outside diameter, and 3/8-inch wall thickness, with specific material properties such as carbon content between .30-.35 and Brinell Hardness of 160-190. Quotes are due by 4:00 PM on December 27, 2024, with evaluation based on both price and technical specifications. The solicitation includes two prior amendments that clarified pipe material composition and technical requirements.
This solicitation is set aside exclusively for small businesses in the Iron and Steel Pipe and Tube Manufacturing from Purchased Steel NAICS category. The pipes will be delivered to the Fountain City Service Base in Wisconsin, with a required delivery date of April 1, 2025. Shipping charges must be included in the quoted price, and the total contract will be for 20 pipe sections, each 46 feet long with welded flanges on both ends. The point of contact for the project is Adam Loven, Plant and Facilities Manager, located at 431 North Shore Drive in Fountain City, Wisconsin. While the specific budget range is not disclosed, the procurement is part of the Saint Paul District's Physical Support Branch infrastructure improvement efforts for the Dredge Goetz maritime equipment.
