About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation (DLA Aviation) in Philadelphia is seeking contractors to manufacture a specific fuel control component (NSN RH 4530 014606214 V2, P/N 4502125A) used on the V-22 aircraft. The solicitation is a pre-solicitation notice indicating the government intends to negotiate with a limited number of sources under FAR 6.302-1 authority. Interested contractors must submit capability statements and proposals within 5 days of the publication date, with the understanding that the government retains sole discretion in determining competitive procurement. Potential contractors must be prepared to provide comprehensive manufacturing capabilities for this specialized aerospace component. All proposals must include source approval information detailed in the Source Approval Information Brochure for Spares, with submissions to be sent to Gregory Koch at Gregory.koch@dla.mil.
The pre-solicitation notice does not indicate a specific set-aside for small businesses or disadvantaged vendors. The procurement is subject to Free Trade Agreements Act and World Trade Organization Government Procurement Agreement regulations. While no specific award value is mentioned, the solicitation suggests a focused, potentially high-value contract for a critical aerospace component. Contractors must be capable of manufacturing a fuel control mechanism that meets precise military specifications for the V-22 aircraft. The government will expedite the procurement process and will not delay awards pending source approval, indicating an urgent or time-sensitive requirement for these fuel control units. Interested manufacturers must demonstrate technical competence, manufacturing capacity, and ability to meet stringent military procurement standards.
