About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs National Acquisition Center is soliciting quotes for a box-erector machine to automate cardboard box assembly for APNEA operations. The solicitation seeks equipment capable of handling multiple box sizes (18"x16"x6", 16"x16"x16", 15"x15"x6", and 19"x13"x13") with a 3" tape head, operating on 110V power with air compressor capabilities, and outputting 15-20 boxes per minute with a hopper capacity of 75-100 boxes. The VA currently manually assembles 500-700 boxes daily and projects an increase of 100 boxes per day over the next couple of years, with the box erector expected to significantly improve efficiency and reduce labor hours. Contract awards will be made on a firm-fixed-price basis to the technically acceptable quote offering the best value. All quotes must be submitted to Michelle Williams at michelle.williams4@va.gov by December 12, 2025, at 16:00 CST, and all questions regarding the solicitation must be submitted by November 21, 2025, at 16:30 CST.
This procurement carries no small business set-aside designation and is classified under NAICS code 333993 (Packaging Machinery Manufacturing) with Product Service Code 3693 (Industrial Assembly Machines). No specific award value or budget range is disclosed in the solicitation documents. The equipment will be placed at the VA facility in Hines, Illinois 60141, and no incumbent contractor or current system provider is identified in the available documentation. The solicitation represents a single-award contract opportunity with no indication of multiple awards or quantity requirements beyond the operational specifications and performance expectations outlined for the box-erector machine itself.
Notice text
APNEA operations require and assemble an average of 500-700 boxes per day. Our projection is that APNEA operations will increase output by 100 boxes today for the next couple of years. Our current solution to complete the task is to assign multiple employees to manually assemble the boxes. A box-erector will automate the process of assembling cardboard boxes, significantly improve efficiency and reduce labor hours.
Quotes must be received by December 12, 2025 16:00 CST to Michelle Williams at michelle.williams4@va.gov.
Any questions should be submitted to Michelle Williams at michelle.williams4@va.gov by 1630 CST 21 November 2025.
The government will award one contract to the quote that provides the best value and technically acceptable to the government.
